Clarked !

I was sitting in my school's computer lab ,working on a project that was assigned to me. I was outright frustrated since the program was not working according to what I intended (When has it ever ? ). I leaned back on my chair and looked around the lab. I saw my friend working on a computer . His program was a "Cricket Scoreboard". Being an ardent cricket fan , I went to over to see his output.He said that he had a small bug but everything else was fine.


P.S: The controversial Sydney test had gotten over a day before and the euphoria hadn't yet died yet .


Before proceeding, I will tell a bit about the project. We can input the number of overs and the scorecard is updated ball by ball,with all the options in cricket available.


I asked him to enter 2 overs. The scorecard appeared and I entered 3 runs for the first ball. So ,now ,Adam Gilchrist had 3 runs to his name & Hayden was facing R.P Singh. the next balls were 4, 0, 2no-ball & 1wide. I then entered hayden as out bowled. So Hayden departed for 6 runs and the scorecard showed Clarke facing next ball. I hate Clarke, all the more after Sydney controversy. I immediately gave him out caught behind, thus satisfying my inner ego.

But you can't always satisfy your ego,as I learned soon enough . Me and my friend were expecting the scorecard to show Clarke out and Ponting facing the next ball.
But the program went black and then a blue screen with an error message came onto it(Windows users will be quite familiar with it). The Error message was :


ILLEGAL OPERATION ATTEMPTED
PROGRAM HAS BEEN TERMINATED

We were stunned ,for a second. But we started laughing at it.WE had a hearty laugh that fetched other friends in the lab to our computer. Boy ! I still remember the look the Lab teacher gave us for the commotion.
